Course Catalog

View the CHS Course Catalog, which includes information such as course number, category, credits, class length (semester or full year), and course level.

The Chelsea High School Course Catalog is available for students to see what courses are available to them during a school year. 

The scheduling of classes for next year begins in February and continues through the end of the school year. As students move through the scheduling process, they are encouraged to challenge themselves, while seeking the advice of parents, teachers, and peers.

Students are encouraged to contact the guidance department at 617-466-5017 or contact their school counselor directly if they have any questions regarding the course selection process or about particular courses.

Course Catalog Notes

  • If you view courses by department, the applicable department overview and flowchart is listed with the courses for easy reference.
  • Partial searches work ("alg" will find "algebra").  Choose electives in Aspen
  • Please remember that this catalog contains the courses we hope to offer next year. Some courses may not be scheduled due to changes in funding, staffing and/or student enrollment.

Graduation & Competency Determination Requirements

Please note the following course and credit requirements for Graduation:

  • 8 credits of English
  • 6 credits of History/Social Sciences
  • 6 credits of Science (with Lab)
  • 8 credits of Mathematics (including Algebra 2)
  • 4 credits of the same World Language
  • 4 credits of Physical Education, Sports, or a PE equivalent (one
    credit per year)
  • 1 credit of Health
  • 2 credits of Fine or Performing Arts
  • 3 credits of Electives
