Course Objectives:
Psychology is the systematic and scientific study of the behavior and mental processes of human beings and other animals. AP Psychology is a college level course with the goal to provide you with an understanding of not only the fundamental concepts and theories of psychology, but also to provide you with an understanding of the biological basis of behavior.
In this course you are going to learn to devise research experiments and learn to critically analyze research results. You will wrestle with the ethical issues and enduring questions addressed by psychologists today. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to apply psychological principles to your own life.
Required Course Reading:
As an Advanced Placement student, you are required to complete a summer reading assignment. Additionally, you are required to complete textbook reading assignments, various journal and news article assignments, and to read a novel of your choice relating to any psychological disorder.
