MCAS
Information for 2007 MCAS
All students are required to pass the state-mandated Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) exams in English/Language Arts and Mathematics in order to be awarded a high school diploma. The passing score on each examination, as determined by the Massachusetts Board of Education, is a 220 (on a 200-280 scale). Students starting with the graduating class of 2010 shall meet or exceed the Needs Improvement threshold scaled score of 220 on one of the discipline specific high school Science (Biology or Chemistry) MCAS tests in order to satisfy the requirement to be awarded a high school diploma.
