Physical & Health Department
The focus of this department will be to have students both participate in strength, flexibility, and cardiovascular fitness, and to learn what choices constitute a healthy lifestyle. Students will also be expected to design their own personal fitness program. Proper nutrition and healthy living habits will also be discussed.
This department will focus on specific ways in which students can incorporate good health habits into their daily lives. Students will explore factors that influence decision-making and help them make choices that benefit their health. The course topics will be aligned with The Massachusetts Health Curriculum Frameworks. The learning standards will include Human Growth and Development, including reproduction/sexuality education, Social and Emotional Health, Tobacco, Alcohol, and other Substance Use/Abuse Prevention, Nutrition and Consumer Health, Infectious disease including STDs and HIV/AIDs education and Community and Public Health.
